Climate Change

It has been a beautiful winter. Ellensburg has had a few inches of snow during Christmas and a few dustings since, but no accumulation at all so far. It is 58 degrees out just past noon. It is still too cold and too early to rejoice. A warmer than usual winter here is usually caused by El Nino. I haven’t heard if this is a factor in our warm January or not, but everyone usually points to global warming for any unusual weather in any circumstance.

I consider myself a scientist and although I believe our activities are influencing the climate, I do not believe it is call for alarm. I watched as Lake Erie got severely polluted, then science and regulations, cleaned it back up. We will do the same thing for global warming changes. We will bring it back under control.

No, the sky is not falling.

Hibernation

I have been hibernating. I don’t like to go out much in the winter anymore and often I get to go long stretches indoors. I spent most of my young adult life fighting to stay warm in the winters. I don’t have to do that anymore, but the experience has heightened my enjoyment of warm and cozy during the cold weather season.

I have been immersed into an online game called Wurm. Created by Notch, the same person that brought us Minecraft, it’s a  very creative building game. It triggers the sweet spot in my brain that gives me pleasure when I create something beautiful, new or elaborate. I have been playing with “Crystlmalice.” She has a soft, beautiful voice and soothes the outrage that I usually show in these posts. I just can’t seem to get myself all worked up over politics and stupidity as I had been because of her friendship and Wurms immersive world.

Maybe I’ll be back to normal in the spring?

The MEMO

Some of the highest members of the FBI started acting like they were in the KGB. Instead of admitting that they were too opinionated to fulfill their duties, they attempted to push their views onto the American public. This appears widespread in the FBI and Justice system and everyone should be horrified. Even if this illegal activity helped your political view, are you willing to accept these types of criminal activities to rule the system? What happens when the injustice is against your views? What happens when the tables are turned? We do not want this abuse of power to exist and it must be found and prosecuted, or our highest governmental police force will be no better than the KGB.

What follows is the memo in it’s entirety.

Subject: Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act Abuses at the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation

Purpose

This memorandum provides Members an update on significant facts relating to the Committee’s ongoing investigation into the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and their use of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) during the 2016 presidential election cycle. Our findings, which are detailed below, 1) raise concerns with the legitimacy and legality of certain DOJ and FBI interactions with the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC), and 2) represent a troubling breakdown of legal processes established to protect the American people from abuses related to the FISA process.

Investigation Update

On October 21, 2016, DOJ and FBI sought and received a FISA probable cause order (not under Title VII) authorizing electronic surveillance on Carter Page from the FISC. Page is a U.S. citizen who served as a volunteer advisor to the Trump presidential campaign. Consistent with requirements under FISA, the application had to be first certified by the Director or Deputy Director of the FBI. It then required the approval of the Attorney General, Deputy Attorney General (DAG), or the Senate-confirmed Assistant Attorney General for the National Security Division.

The FBI and DOJ obtained one initial FISA warrant targeting Carter Page and three FISA renewals from the FISC. As required by statute (50 U.S.C. §,1805(d)(l)), a FISA order on an American citizen must be renewed by the FISC every 90 days and each renewal requires a separate finding of probable cause. Then-Director James Comey signed three FISA applications in question on behalf of the FBI, and Deputy Director Andrew McCabe signed one. Then-DAG Sally Yates, then-Acting DAG Dana Boente, and DAG Rod Rosenstein each signed one or more FISA applications on behalf of DOJ.

Due to the sensitive nature of foreign intelligence activity, FISA submissions (including renewals) before the FISC are classified. As such, the public’s confidence in the integrity of the FISA process depends on the court’s ability to hold the government to the highest standard—particularly as it relates to surveillance of American citizens. However, the FISC’s rigor in protecting the rights of Americans, which is reinforced by 90-day renewals of surveillance orders, is necessarily dependent on the government’s production to the court of all material and relevant facts. This should include information potentially favorable to the target of the FISA application that is known by the government. In the case of Carter Page, the government had at least four independent opportunities before the FISC to accurately provide an accounting of the relevant facts. However, our findings indicate that, as described below, material and relevant information was omitted.

1) The “dossier” compiled by Christopher Steele (Steele dossier) on behalf of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and the Hillary Clinton campaign formed an essential part of the Carter Page FISA application. Steele was a longtime FBI source who was paid over $160,000 by the DNC and Clinton campaign, via the law firm Perkins Coie and research firm Fusion GPS, to obtain derogatory information on Donald Trump’s ties to Russia.

a) Neither the initial application in October 2016, nor any of the renewals, disclose or reference the role of the DNC, Clinton campaign, or any party/campaign in funding Steele’s efforts, even though the political origins of the Steele dossier were then known to senior DOJ and FBI officials.

b) The initial FISA application notes Steele was working for a named U.S. person, but does not name Fusion GPS and principal Glenn Simpson, who was paid by a U.S. law firm (Perkins Coie) representing the DNC (even though it was known by DOJ at the time that political actors were involved with the Steele dossier). The application does not mention Steele was ultimately working on behalf of—and paid by—the DNC and Clinton campaign, or that the FBI had separately authorized payment to Steele for the same information.

2) The Carter Page FISA application also cited extensively a September 23, 2016, Yahoo News article by Michael Isikoff, which focuses on Page’s July 2016 trip to Moscow. This article does not corroborate the Steele dossier because it is derived from information leaked by Steele himself to Yahoo News. The Page FISA application incorrectly assesses that Steele did not directly provide information to Yahoo News. Steele has admitted in British court filings that he met with Yahoo News—and several other outlets—in September 2016 at the direction of Fusion GPS. Perkins Coie was aware of Steele’s initial media contacts because they hosted at least one meeting in Washington D.C. in 2016 with Steele and Fusion GPS where this matter was discussed.

a) Steele was suspended and then terminated as an FBI source for what the FBI defines as the most serious of violations—an unauthorized disclosure to the media of his relationship with the FBI in an October 30, 2016, Mother Jones article by David Corn. Steele should have been terminated for his previous undisclosed contacts with Yahoo and other outlets in September—before the Page application was submitted to the FISC in October—but Steele improperly concealed from and lied to the FBI about those contacts.

b) Steele’s numerous encounters with the media violated the cardinal rule of source handling—maintaining confidentiality—and demonstrated that Steele had become a less than reliable source for the FBI.

3) Before and after Steele was terminated as a source, he maintained contact with DOJ via then-Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr, a senior DOJ official who worked closely with Deputy Attorneys General Yates and later Rosenstein. Shortly after the election, the FBI began interviewing Ohr, documenting his communications with Steele. For example, in September 2016, Steele admitted to Ohr his feelings against then-candidate Trump when Steele said he “was desperate that Donald Trump not get elected and was passionate about him not being president.” This clear evidence of Steele’s bias was recorded by Ohr at the time and subsequently in official FBI files—but not reflected in any of the Page FISA applications.

a) During this same time period, Ohr’s wife was employed by Fusion GPS to assist in the cultivation of opposition research on Trump. Ohr later provided the FBI with all of his wife’s opposition research, paid for by the DNC and Clinton campaign via Fusion GPS. The Ohrs’ relationship with Steele and Fusion GPS was inexplicably concealed from the FISC.

4) According to the head of the FBI’s counterintelligence division, Assistant Director Bill Priestap, corroboration of the Steele dossier was in its “infancy” at the time of the initial Page FISA application. After Steele was terminated, a source validation report conducted by an independent unit within FBI assessed Steele’s reporting as only minimally corroborated. Yet, in early January 2017, Director Comey briefed President-elect Trump on a summary of the Steele dossier, even though it was—according to his June 2017 testimony—“salacious and unverified.” While the FISA application relied on Steele’s past record of credible reporting on other unrelated matters, it ignored or concealed his anti-Trump financial and ideological motivations. Furthermore, Deputy Director McCabe testified before the Committee in December 2017 that no surveillance warrant would have been sought from the FISC without the Steele dossier information.

5) The Page FISA application also mentions information regarding fellow Trump campaign advisor George Papadopoulos, but there is no evidence of any cooperation or conspiracy between Page and Papadopoulos. The Papadopoulos information triggered the opening of an FBI counterintelligence investigation in late July 2016 by FBI agent Pete Strzok. Strzok was reassigned by the Special Counsel’s Office to FBI Human Resources for improper text messages with his mistress, FBI Attorney Lisa Page (no known relation to Carter Page), where they both demonstrated a clear bias against Trump and in favor of Clinton, whom Strzok had also investigated. The Strzok/Lisa Page texts also reflect extensive discussions about the investigation, orchestrating leaks to the media, and include a meeting with Deputy Director McCabe to discuss an “insurance” policy against President Trump’s election.

America

We are in a great struggle. The left and the right are pulling the very fabric of of our past and well being apart. Torn by rhetoric and actions of opposition the very quilt of comfort and warmth is ripping. The cold rules of this feud rush in destined to cause a sickness the likes the world has never known. If America does die, everything that is good and beautiful in the world will soon follow.

“America must win this war. Therefore, I will work. I will save. I will sacrifice. I will endure. I will fight cheerfully and do my utmost as if the whole issue of the struggle depended on me alone.” Martin A. Treptow  Private, United States Army

Life

Life is wonderous! Yeah, I get it, but that’s about all of that crap I can stand right now. While indeed life is wondrous, it is also many other things. brutal comes to mind. That’s my mood right now, but really you can put almost anything after the words “Life is”. Go ahead and try it, tempting? Life is tempting! Bad, good, easy, hard, fast, slow, cruel, I’m thinking about a lot of the negative things life can be but there are plenty of positive things too. Some might say sacred. How could life be all those things and still be sacred? Some people think of the good things about life and declare it as sacred, that’s how.The next logical step is to protect the sacred.

How do I protect life and what’s for dinner? Yes, what’s for dinner. Well life of course. How do you protect the very thing that we and almost all life eats? Life eats life! Hindus can restrain from eating cows, but lions can’t! To protect innocent life, we need to kill the predators. Predators are life and life is sacred, well we can’t do that. Is there any way to solve this conundrum? I think the answer may soon be yes. I think science and technology may create a world where the lion indeed lies down with the lamb and where all animals can live without eating other life.

Take one medium sized rock and grind it to a flour like texture, add some artificial yeast and some flavor pack. Excite the molecules until it rises and bakes. Sprinkle with some food calories made from bacteria and the sun. Slice and eat!

On the other hand, mix into the herd of gazelles many artificial gazelles. Program the artificial gazelles to be a little bit slower, a little better smelling and tasting to the lion and vastly easier to eat.

If science ever does produce the utopia where the lion lies down with the lamb, then we will really have to examine abortion laws. Didn’t see that coming, did you?

3 UCLA Basketball Players Arrested and Accused of Shoplifting

Jalen Hill, LiAngelo Ball and Cody Riley, three players on the UCLA College Basketball team were arrested and charged with shoplifting. Three young kids stealing stuff wouldn’t normally be anything to write home about, but they are on the UCLA basketball team.

The big problem for these three African American ballers is that they are in China!

How stupid do you have to be to not realize that the current cultural acceptance of blacks stealing or looting by the liberal leftists, does not carry over to China? These three are about to behold the power of a country that doesn’t care!

I have two separate predictions:

  1. These three get sentenced to 10 years and serve over five before getting home. They all become law abiding citizens and disappear from view.
  2. The State Department and President Trump intervenes and they get released. We will hear much more about their antics and lawlessness for many years to come.

Judge Roy Moore

Roy Moore is a Republican candidate for the United States Senate. Roy Moore was once elected to be Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court.

I’m a Democrat, but when I heard that Judge Moore was removed from his position as Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, I wanted to know why? It turns out he was removed for not removing a granite statue in the lobby of the Alabama Judicial Building.

It was a monument of the “Ten Commandments”.

The 10 Commandments! In a Judicial Building?

The Ten Commandments

  1. You shall have no other Gods but me.
  2. You shall not make for yourself any idol, nor bow down to it or worship it.
  3. You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God.
  4. You shall remember and keep the Sabbath day holy.
  5. Respect your father and mother.
  6. You must not commit murder.
  7. You must not commit adultery.
  8. You must not steal.
  9. You must not give false evidence against your neighbour.
  10. You must not be envious of your neighbour’s goods. You shall not be envious of his house nor his wife, nor anything that belongs to your neighbour.

I think defending the 10 commandments is an honorable way to go down.

Now, as far as the abuse allegations recently made against him, should he step down from running for the U.S. Senate? I would normally think innocent until proven guilty. Should someone roll over and give up an endeavor because of an allegation? Well, If you know it to be true you should give up and exclude yourself pending the investigation. If on the other hand you know it to be a false accusation, you should deny it and continue on your path. Either way it is the ninth commandment:  You must not give false evidence against your neighbour that we are discussing.

My final question to myself is: Why would a person guilty of being a pediphile and child molester, act so holier than thou, and actually lose the role of Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court for not removing a symbolic statue proclaiming the very rules he knows he has broken? Why wouldn’t he have just complied with the 11th U.S. Circuit Court and removed it and kept on with his good work?

I conclude that if Judge Roy Moore is a bad person and guilty of horrible crimes, then he is also mentally ill,  a hypocrite and just plain stupid. These things would be easier to show and would have come to the surface as well.  It is doubtful that the allegations are true.

Judge Roy Moore is probably a Christian Patriot, let the people of Alabama decide if they want him to represent them. If they elect him, honor that election as any other unless and until he is proven guilty in the very court that he defended so wholly.

You are a visitor!

Well hello!

It seems from my traffic indicator that people other than me and some bots, actually come here and read my rants. This is both good and bad for me.

While I believe that my well thought out posts should be plastered on everyone’s monitor and all my warnings heeded, the slightest slip of the pen, could land me on the hitlist of some self righteous leftist and put my feet to the fire. Who wants that?

Wolf Blitzers Spin

There was a time when Wolf Blitzer told the news. He would go to the news and report what he found and saw. Sadly this is no longer the case. Now he is a spin doctor, the number one spin doctor for CNN, but still, just spin doctor. He doesn’t report the news any more, he changes it to fit his narrative. He is either spinning it because he wants to, or because he is told to, but spin it he does. Here are two examples that prove his personal distortion of the real news.

First, for the last eight months, we have been being fed a spin on the facts that had President Trump, colluding with Russians. The media has assumed that Russia must have influenced the election to favor Trump. The Russian investigation, while looking for wrongdoings by Trump or his team, has taken a turn to expose some wrongdoing by the previous administration, Hillary Clinton and the FBI itself.

How did President Trump change the subject or direction of the investigation? He can’t and Wolf knows damn well that it is Congress that is pushing for investigations into Hillary and the Clinton Foundation. Any of the investigations must look at any credible improper or illegal activity. Your headline that says :White house moves to discredit russia probe, Trump foes” Is just is plain fake news. To imply that President Trump is such a magician that he can misdirect FBI investigations and Congressional hearings by changing the subject, is deceitful and inciting. Wolf, this make you look stupid. You should report what actually happened, not a made up scheme that only the stupidest of your viewers will believe.

Wolf immediately went into a statement that blamed President Trump for keeping some documents under wraps.

Releasing these documents was put off by Ex-President Obama until today. President Trump had to either officially put this off or release the documents. He chose to release them. They were not ready to be released. The FBI wants to redact certain pages and parts, in the name of national security.

Trump said: “I am ordering today that the veil finally be lifted. At the same time, executive departments and agencies have proposed to me that certain information should continue to be redacted because of national security, law enforcement, and foreign affairs concerns. I have no choice — today — but to accept those redactions rather than allow potentially irreversible harm to our nation’s security.”

“Mr. Trump, who has indulged in his own wild speculation about the sensational killing, had expressed eagerness to finally open the last of the government files, only to run into a last-minute campaign by intelligence agencies to redact certain documents. Grudgingly, he gave the agencies until April 26 to go through the remaining papers again and make their case.”

Why were they not ready since they had so much time to prepare? Could it be that the FBI didn’t want the documents to ever be made public?

President Trump made a grand move to become more transparent with the American people and Wolf Blitzer took a cheap shot at him by insinuating that it was President Trump that was hiding something, not the past administrations.
